Is the Merzouga desert safe for kids?
Yes. Our guides stay with your family the whole time, the camp is private and comfortable, and we keep camel rides short and gentle.
What age can children ride a camel?
Most children from about 3 years old can ride with a parent or with a guide walking alongside. Younger children can travel to camp by 4×4.
What should we pack for children?
Warm layers for the night, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, closed shoes and a small torch.
Can we combine the family trip with other activities?
Yes. Families often add sandboarding, a quad bike ride for teenagers, a Berber cooking class or a visit to Khamlia village.
