Marrakech to Fes 4-Day Sahara Tour – Across Morocco via the Desert

Cross Morocco from Marrakech to Fes the most beautiful way: over the High Atlas, through the kasbahs and gorges of the south and into the Sahara at Merzouga, before heading north through the Middle Atlas to Fes. This private 4-day tour gives you more time in the desert and a relaxed pace.

Day 1 – Marrakech to the Dades Valley

Pickup from your hotel in Marrakech and cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Visit the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou and continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley for the night.

Day 2 – Todra Gorge to Merzouga

Drive through the Dades Gorge to the Todra Gorge for a walk between its tall cliffs. Continue to Merzouga, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset and spend the night in our desert camp.

Day 3 – A day in the Merzouga desert

Sunrise over the dunes and breakfast at the camp. Spend the day around Merzouga visiting a nomad family, Khamlia and its Gnawa music and the Rissani market, or add a quad, buggy or 4x4 adventure. Night in Merzouga.

Day 4 – Merzouga to Fes

Drive north through the Ziz Valley, Midelt and the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas, with a stop in Ifrane. Arrive at your riad or hotel in Fes in the late afternoon.
