Merzouga Full Day 4x4 Trip

In the morning, we start our Merzouga Full Day 4×4 Trip to explore small villages near the Erg Chebbi dunes, such as Hassi Labied, Merzouga, and Khamlia.Our first stop is in Hassi Labied, where you’ll visit a garden and see how water is brought to the fields using traditional canal systems. Then we continue towards Merzouga.

On the way to Khamlia, we might meet locals with desert foxes, and you could also see some desert animals like reptiles and small mammals.In Khamlia, a village where people originally came from Sudan, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a cup of Berber tea (called “Berber whiskey”) and enjoy live Gnawa music, known for its spiritual rhythms.

After Khamlia, we’ll stop to enjoy the beautiful view of the golden sand dunes near the Algerian border. If you like, we can have a picnic lunch under the shade of a tree.Next, we visit a Nomad family living in a traditional Berber tent. They take care of animals like goats, sheep, and camels. You’ll meet the family, learn about their simple way of life, and share a cup of tea with them.Afterward, we visit a site with black volcanic rocks, then continue to a spot with stunning desert views. In springtime, you might also see a lake near the dunes.
